On October 31, 2025, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) hosted the seminar “One Exam, Multiple Certifications Create the Future: Continuous Education Expands New Horizons” at the Ma Chun Yu Memorial Hall, Room 117, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwai Chung Campus), 20 Hing Shing Road, Kwai Chung, New Territories. Focusing on the themes of “one exam, multiple certifications” and continuous education in the beauty and hairdressing industry, Ms. Yip Wai Man, Founder of AHMA Hair Council Limited, delivered an insightful speech on the trends and opportunities in the hairdressing industry, highlighting the pivotal role of “one exam, multiple certifications” and injecting new momentum into the industry’s development.

The seminar brought together authoritative representatives from the beauty and hairdressing industry, academia, and other sectors to explore industry upgrading and talent cultivation paths centered on the “one exam, multiple certifications” model.

Ms. Yip Wai Man, Founder of AHMA Hair Council Limited, shared her insights on the theme “Trends and Opportunities in the Hairdressing Industry – The Important Role of ‘One Exam, Multiple Certifications’” based on her years of experience in the hairdressing industry. She pointed out that as consumers’ demands for professionalism and diversity in hairdressing services increase, the hairdressing industry is embracing dual opportunities for technological iteration and service upgrading. The “one exam, multiple certifications” model serves as a bridge connecting talent capabilities and industry standards. It not only enables practitioners to efficiently obtain multiple professional certifications but also promotes the standardization of the industry’s qualification system, helping hairdressing talents break through development boundaries in the workplace.

Mr. Wong Kwok Keung, Salon Owner of Redill Hair Salon, also shared the practical value of “one exam, multiple certifications” in talent reserve and service quality improvement for hairdressing institutions from an industry practice perspective, forming a deep echo with Ms. Yip Wai Man’s views from both industry and academic perspectives.

Mr. Lau King Hei, External Examiner for Higher Diploma at IVE, emphasized the “Importance of Continuous Professional Education” during the seminar, noting that the hairdressing industry, as a fashion service field, is rapidly evolving in technology and aesthetic trends, making continuous education a key to maintaining competitiveness for practitioners.

As an authoritative institution in the hairdressing industry, AHMA has long been committed to promoting the standardization and professionalization of the industry. This collaboration with VTC through the “one exam, multiple certifications” seminar to build a communication platform not only reflects the in-depth cooperation between the two parties in hairdressing talent cultivation but also sends a clear signal to the industry: only by taking certificates as a carrier and continuous education as a path can the sustainable upgrading of the hairdressing industry be achieved.

The successful holding of this seminar has laid a solid foundation for the promotion of the “one exam, multiple certifications” model and the construction of a continuous education ecosystem in the hairdressing industry. The in-depth collaboration between AHMA and VTC not only points out a dual path of capacity enhancement and qualification certification for hairdressing practitioners but also injects strong momentum into the overall standardization and professionalization development of the industry. In the future, the two parties will continue to explore innovative practices in “one exam, multiple certifications” and continuous education, jointly creating a new future for high-quality development in the hairdressing industry.
